I do not participate in social networking in my role as a professional psychologist. I believe that such interaction with existing and former clients might place at risk the safety of the therapeutic relationship. These means of communication are not secure. Additionally, I do not wish to blur the boundaries of our client/doctor relationship. Thus, please do not be offended when I do not accept contact via Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter.
I do not use email to arrange or modify appointments. Likewise, it is not a good idea for you to send me your thoughts about your therapy sessions by email as it is not completely secure or confidential. Any emails that I receive from you and responses that I send you become part of your medical record.
When necessary, i.e., with the Covid-19 outbreak, I provide Telehealth therapy through Zoom, Whats App or FaceTime. Although I do my best to secure these conversations, there remains the possibility of hacker access and thus, breeches in privacy.
